Just a girl and a goose

So in doing a little blog cleaning I came across a few draft posts with no content whatsoever except for this one. Just one lonely picture of me and this goose having a stare off. Why? I have no idea. When? I have no idea. Where? I have no idea. Who took the photo? I have no idea. Fun times? I'm sure! I must have been leaving the bar 😉

I Have Officially Retired My Ugg Boots For The Season
My Ugg boots are probably my favorite shoewear. I love them! My feet have a tendency to get cold but not while wearing these. I have read that men don't like them but I think they are cute as can be and my hubby doesn't complain. Yes, I even like them with shorts. Although I only wear them with jeans. With the sun finally coming out, sadly it's time to place them at the back of my closet.
Top: ModCloth Jeans: Levi's 515
The top I have on is the most softest thing I own and was purchased at my favorite internet clothing shop...ModCloth. It is the The-Great-Estate-Dress and is currently sold out. They have some really cool, unique items. This was listed as a dress but was a bit short for me since you can see through the bottom layer. I pulled it up a bit and it was perfect as a top with my Levis. It would be cute with leggings or a short skirt and tights too.  I'm still trying to get out of my Levis and into some more stylish outfits but I love them so. Still …

The Cabbage Patch Kids inspired crochet hat

I just love Cabbage Patch Kids! Years ago my dad went on a mission to get me one when they were hard to find. With the invent of the internet you can almost find anything these days but back in the day it wasn't so easy. He finally succeeded but there was always a story about what a time he had. He was able to get me two in the long run. The first a little boy named Bobby George (my dad's name was Bobby also) just in case he couldn't get his hands on a girl with red hair. Luckily eventually someone was able to get the girl doll for him to give to me. I was so pleased to get them and he was so happy giving them to me that it is a memory I will always treasure. Whenever I think of Cabbage Patch dolls I always think of him. I get them out once in awhile and clean them up but I hope to display them after I paint my second bedroom which I hope to make whimsical and colorful. Arlene looked like she could use a bit of sprucing up when I got her out for pictures so I'm not su…

Glad to see old man winter almost gone!

It's actually been a pretty mild winter for us here in the midwest, or in my area anyway. The snow in the picture has melted and if it wasn't still so cold it would be pretty nice. That darn groundhog anyway! I could have done without the six more weeks of winter.
What better way to forget about the weather than to do some shopping. I have been redecorating some in my small house getting a jump on spring cleaning. I finally got rid of my 20 year old couch and loveseat. YAY! I got a new loveseat, recliner and accent chair. Until buying this new furniture I didn't realize they are making loveseats as big as couches now. What was the size of a loveseat is now considered a chair and a half. I had to giggle at that. I guess the population really is getting bigger which has given way to bigger furniture. No way a couch I would buy now would fit where my old one did so it actually saved me money. I got a perfectly good sized loveseat for far less than the couch pricetag for the …

Concert Series: Miranda Cosgrove

On August 10, 2011 we took our granddaughter to see Miranda Cosgrove, you know Nickelodeon's iCarly (she also played the band manager in School of Rock). Ashley knows every episode by heart and Miranda's solo album had just came out. We were all very excited! Especially my hubby who stated if he never watched iCarly again or listened to the cd it would probably be too soon for him. Of course, he had a blast regardless of his taste in tv and music!

We went shopping for Ashley before the show and I let her pick out her outfit. A little fashionista I do believe. The hat was totally her idea! All items are from Kohls. I picked up the white skirt for myself and my top was from the Modcloth end of summer sale last year. I think you all know my old kicks :o) I, thankfully, finally got a couple of new pairs which you can see here and here.

We had 4th row seats and they allowed the kids to go down front which meant Ashley had a front row view. She was up there hand slapping and danci…

Not quite spring but almost...thankfully!

I am trying to get back into the swing of getting out into the real world on a daily basis once again here lately.  I seem to be adjusting pretty well, or I was until the time change went into effect. It always messes my sleeping up. So this week I am back to the adjustment period and making headway.  I am enjoying my new job and the weather has been pretty great.  Nice people and having a bit of extra cash is so so very nice. I even ordered myself a new purse from Modcloth. I need a bigger one to carry all my crap in and I am sick to death of my old Coach purse I've carried off and on for a few years, so why not treat myself a bit. I couldn't see one good reason why I shouldn't. So I did! Although I do plan to continue with my thrifty ways until I can get a few eggs back in the nest. Not much excitement lately. I've been on information overload but feeling good about getting back to work!  I've been thoroughly enjoying listening to the Hollywood Vampires on my dr…

Concert Series - Ringo Starr

In March it was announced that Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band were going to play the Fraze Pavillion on July 2nd. My granddaughter is a drummer and Ringo is her favorite drummer and also her favorite Beatle so it was a no brainer that I had to get tickets for us to go. Her birthday was close to the concert date which made for a perfect gift but it was all I could do to keep the secret. 7th row center seats, I was thrilled and I knew she would be too. The day finally came and she was overwhelmed when she got her ticket. Now the fun was to begin! As I have mentioned before The Beatles are my favorite band. Being an only child in the country with only 3 tv stations I turned to music at an early age for entertainment. I was at the prime age when The Beatles hit the big time to fall in love like so many other gals. Who knew they would have such an impact at the time but that's another story. When my granddaughter was born I decided I wanted her to listen to them at an early age al…

Carly Rae Jepsen - Music Video

I heard Carly's song Call Me Maybe on the radio yesterday for the first time. I stopped what I was doing and listened. That's usually how I come to love the music I listen to. It stops me in my tracks and I want to hear it again and usually again :o) It came on once again this morning and I just had topop over to youtube to check out the video and it's so cute I wanted to share. You know ladies, we've all been there, and once you watch it you'll know what I mean! It certainly made me laugh :o)
I also found a couple links if you have any interest in learning about her.
