Lovin' the peplum!

I have always really liked peplum tops or peplums on dresses. They give a nice little flounce to your outfit I think. I bought this top at the Modcloth sale last fall. Which, by the way, you need to watch for the sale this year. Items are usually 70% off. A great sale! I finally got a chance to wear it to my granddaughter's graduation a few weeks ago. I am so proud of her! She received lots of scholarships and awards. I got a lot of compliments on the top and lots of love for my pink shoes. I love bass shoes and these are no exception. They are so cute I only wear them occasionally so they will no doubt last me for years. I don't want to get them dirty quite yet. I also brought out my only 2 Gucci items that I own, a watch and a purse. I was styling to say the least!

Summer flowers are in bloom! Just beautiful!

Turn colorful photos into black and white gems

I have always loved black and white photography. My first camera I got when I was a little girl was a Polaroid that took very small black and whites. I thought it was the coolest thing ever! My oh my, have we come a long way since way back then. Later, after many film cameras, I got a 35mm and I would every so often pick up a roll of black and white film to just have another way to look at the world but the trouble with that was that you didn't have any color prints. But now with the digital age you can have both color and black and white photos of the same thing and get a little creative with both.

About a month ago we attended the Buckeye BBQ Fest which was a blast. It was spur of the moment and we had such a good time. It was on the chilly side so we went early and left early but in the meantime we ate some tasty BBQ, played in the fountain, petted the animals, listened and danced to some awesome blues music and took lots of pictures.

I decided since I had so many pictures I would pick out some candid ones and see what I could do with them in black and white. I was pleased with the result. These photos were processed using ancient Photoshop software I have on my work computer. Nothing special and nothing more than a little cropping and choosing which filter I liked the best. So easy to do and I think it makes a world of difference. I would think all photo software has an option to change to black and white. If you are on Instagram they offer 2 different black and white filters. If you haven't experimented with black and white photography I say go for it. It's easy peasy and can give your photos a completely different look!

Here is a list of the best iPhone pictures for 2014 and quite a few are black and white. Awesome shots!

Crushin' on Heels Today

I started out looking for oxfords or penny loafers which I really need but I got sidetracked looking at these cute heels and thought I would share. It's a shame I don't need any heels. Later on when I need heels I'll find cute oxfords! Isn't that usually the way it goes :o)

Music Monday - Kenny Wayne Shepherd

Why yes, that is me with Noah Hunt, lead singer for the Kenny Wayne Shepherd band! This photo was taken at a local venue in 2009 when he was traveling solo with Blues Traveler. He's a Cincinnati boy so he wasn't far from home. Looks like we have both cut our bangs since then. I am thrilled to see he is back with Kenny Wayne for his new album, Goin' Home. I have been a fan since the beginning and I have seen them many times. One of my all time favorites to see live. I love love love the new album!

Kenny Wayne's dog, Dodge. He's a handsome fellow!
