Taylor Swift in Vogue

Photographed by Mario Testino

As you know I really like Taylor Swift. I have a couple of posts about her you can find here and here. I love the February Vogue spread of her goovin' as a 70's rocker! The 70's were, after all, my heyday :o) You can read the story and see the full layout on vogue.com/magazine/article/taylor-swift-the-single-life. Be sure and check out the spring fashions while you are there.

You most certainly will want to check out the blogger post from Frills and Thrills. Sam has done all the work for us. She has showcased the Vogue photos with model photos and information on what Taylor is wearing so you can have the look for yourself. She is awesome! You'll definitely want to add her to your blog list.

With Valentine's Day on the way and love in the air I decided to showcase "Love Story" as my video choice. Enjoy ♥

A stroll on the beach!

♥ Beachbum: Levi's

I'm back from Florida and I had such a great time! I spent the week with my mom, my cousin and my 3 aunts. We spent time telling stories of days gone by (no wonder I'm so crazy, those gals are nuts ♥), playing cards (me and my aunt Claudia are the champs, no denying unless you talk to the others..lol), eating, drinking and shopping. It was pretty laid back and felt weird getting up and having absolutely nothing I had to do. It was sweet!

The weather stayed in the lower 60's so it was not warm enough to lay in the sun so we had to settle for a long walk on the beach which was wonderful in itself so I am not complaining.  The white beach was so beautiful! I had a great time strolling on the beach with my aunt Joyce who actually believed me when I said the water wasn't cold :o)

This is where we stayed...

Seeings as how I am in warm weather for the week I thought a nice summery video was the order of the day and I simply adore all the dresses the ladies are wearing. Even the fellows have their clothes groove on. Cute song too, just fabulous! Although I do feel sorry for the poor girl on the steps she should count herself lucky. The others just look way too happy for comfort and that's kind of creepy. Sort of a Stepford Wives in Pleasantville vibe. She should stop crying and run as fast as she can :o)

Enjoy ♥

TV: Once Upon A Time - Ginnifer Goodwin

One of my favorite shows of the fall season is Once Upon A Time. It is a drama on ABC on Sunday evenings at 8:00. The story is a twist on fairytales complete with the Evil Queen, Snow White and Prince Charming with Rumpelstiltskin often stealing the show and scaring the crap out of everyone including the Evil Queen who is now the town's mayor. To begin the story, the Evil Queen launches a curse on everyone, including herself, wherein all the characters of your favorite fairytale are frozen in time in modern day existence with no hope of a happy ending. Of course, no one in the town remembers who they really are but it's only a matter of time after a small boy discovers a book of fairytales which he believes tells the true stories of all the people in the sleepy town of Storybrooke, Maine. He knows to unlock the truth he must find the key to everything which is his birth mother (the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming). As she arrives the town clock begins to tick tock again after being broken for as long as anyone can remember letting the watcher know the story is now beginning to really unfold. The story moves from modern day to fairytale land to give you all the juicy details of the whens and whys. It's good vs. evil all the way. btw, the Evil Queen is the boy's adoptive mother, catfight to follow! I'm really enjoying it!

For a limited time you can watch full episodes on abc.com here.

While watching the show I noticed I really liked the outfits worn by Ginnifer Goodwin. She plays the beautiful Snow White and Mary Margaret.

You can find her coat at TopShop here for $150.00.

I have been shopping coats for a couple of months and came across this coat which looks to be the one worn by Ginnifer. If I hadn't already purchased 2 I think I would have to have it. Maybe next year :o)

This is how to get your woodswoman look going on!

Remember to beware of women bearing apples...just in case!

Oh, and remind me to stay out of Maine. There seems to be alot going on up there I would rather avoid. ♥

What a beautiful day!

We have been having some beautiful weather here in the heart of the midwest. It has me dreaming of flowers instead of wondering how I'm going to get home in the snow which is normal for this time of year but we've only had one dusting so far. It doesn't feel like January but after the last couple of years a mild winter is welcome. I've been waiting for a nice snow to take some pics of my new coat but I'm happy to keep on waiting.

This picture was taken where I saw the UFO awhile back. I still can't figure out what that was but haven't seen anything strange in this area lately, only this lovely sunset. Keeping my eyes open, just hope I don't run into anything which has more eyes than I do. ♥

Concert Series: Taylor Swift

For a Christmas present I made the girls a picture album of our trip to see Taylor Swift last spring and I thought I would share a few pics and a little of our story. After hours of working on pictures I was relieved the photo albums came out so well and that the girls were thrilled with them. I mixed my pictures along with pictures I came across online. Some of mine were a bit fuzzy since they were taken with my old camera but mixed in with ones that looked like I had taken them only better it worked out perfectly. The ones here in the post are some of mine. I have so many more but it's hard to choose. I used Snapfish to do the photo books. I am always pleased with their product.  You can store pictures, make albums, get prints, photo trinkets and anything you need. I highly recommend it. They are fast, reasonable and have some great sales.

Anyway to get to the story, the morning tickets went on sale for Taylor Swift I got an email from one of my favorite venues that said I could get tickets before the general public if I used a code at a certain time. I tried to restrain myself but come 9:00 that morning I was online and ready to purchase.  As it turned out this impulse buy ending up being one of the best ever.  I got 4 tickets with no thought as to who was going to go but I knew me and Ashley were so there. We planned the 2 hour trip and reservations were made to spend the night. Now who else was going to go with us? Of course, I had to ask my hubby first but he quickly said he'd pass so in stepped my mom. I was not going on an overnight trip with 3 kids by myself so another adult was a must. As it turned out Ashley's older sister did not want to go (she's too cool :) so her bff snatched up the other ticket. Unfortunately the day of the show I woke up with a toothache and swollen jaw. OMG, I was afraid I was going to have to miss the show! My hubby went and got me some tooth medication and my mom went on a search for pain pills. Luckily I was able to attend and other than Ashley forgetting her bag that had her sandals and day after outfit in it the rest of the trip went off without a hitch.  A great time was had by all! I wish I had been able to get a video of those girls singing Taylor's songs on the way there. Glad mom found those pain pills. ♥

Ashley traded in her sequined hat for a feathered cowboy hat. The sold-out crowd consisted mainly of females of all ages. There were lots of cowboy hats and boots in attendance that's for sure! Lots of excitement in the air.

Taylor was absolutely amazing. It was definitely over-the-top. A huge production show. Very magical and fairytale like, complete with  a dozen wardrobe and set changes, a revolving colored tree, acrobats, confetti and a close-up look at Taylor as she floated around the arena in her own balcony! There was even snow in June!

When Taylor headed down to our end of the arena I let the girls go down and take some pictures and see her up close.

As you can see by those faces the girls couldn't have had a better time. Even got to McDonald's the next morning right at 10:30 so they got to have chicken nuggets and hash browns together. I wanted to stop at Waffle House and so they thought it was very funny that they ended up getting exactly what they wanted because I told them breakfast would be over. Two lucky little ladies! ♥

Check out Taylor's official website here!
Check out close up pics of the concert we attended on an awesome fan website here!
